Meet Our Principal
Dr. Tony Shah
Dr. Shah knows the value of education. While he was born and raised in Lodi, his parents were immigrants from Pakistan and had little formal education. In addition, he was a struggling learner himself. With hard work and dedication, Dr. Shah was able to attend college on an athletic scholarship.
Dr. Shah brought a wealth of experience to Golden West Elementary School: over 20 years experience as an educator and fifteen years as an administrator. After he graduated from Lodi High School, Tony attended San Joaquin Delta College and Sacramento State University to earn his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He obtained a Master’s degree from National University and returned to Sacramento State for his credential. Dr. Shah ultimately earned his Doctorate of Educational Leadership from the University of the Pacific.
As he continues at Golden West, Dr. Shah is focused on student success. His goal is to continue to build on grade level standards mastery and to promote a campus culture that ensures all students are academically, socio-emotionally, and behaviorally successful and prepared for high school, college, and their future careers.
It is urgent we are successful with all students regardless of current ability level, race, culture, English language developmental level, health or disability status, so they can be gainfully employed in a globally and technologically competitive economy.
